New home

First I would like to welcome Lisa to my blog.  I didn't find her blog until yesterday but her work is amazing. I'm sure you'll think so too.

I bought the Memory Box house die at a sale price some months ago and this is it's first outing.  It's actually a Christmas die but I cut off the little tree and holiday sentiment that came out of the chimney (which I forgot to put back on) oops!

The whole card is made with snippets of card, paper and ribbon The blue background circle is cut from some craft packaging.  I distressed the embossed background card.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:-

Pixies Snippets Playground  #192 over at Pixies Craft Workshop blog and
Allsorts Challenge blog Week#326 Recycle/Upcycle

  1. Fantastic new home card Barb. Love that die - congrats on getting a bargain.

    Hugs, Sarn xxx

  2. Hi Barb, this is a really cute card and I like what you did with the Christmas die and I don´t miss the chimney at all. Thank you for a very nice welcome!!! :)
    Hugs Lisa

  3. What a cute use of that Christmas die, turning it into a new home card! I love the ribbon and flower brad accent with the dangling heart! Great idea for a card!

  4. The MB dies has transformed into a perfect new home card Barb, great thinking.

  6. Lovely new home the sweet image....Joolsx

  7. Great re usage of the packaging material. I do that with The Docs custard tart boxes. Good job he likes then otherwise I'd be running out of blue strippy cards. Hugs Mrs A.

  8. Gorgeous new-home card! Love the die cut! I like how you did the sentiment.. is that part of the die or is that another die?

    2. It's not a die Kitty. The letters are punched out and I used the negative of some letters and cut them out in random shapes. Barb

  9. Super card and a great die there Barb! It's a centrally heated house without the need for a chimney :)

  10. Hi Barb, great use of snippets of card, I love it when folk alter dies too. You can't beat getting more wear out of them than what they were intended for. The wee house had a lovely New England feel about it. I love that style of thing.

Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday, hugs Erika. x

  11. Hi Barb,
    what a wonderful card.
A great image, and perfect for someone who has moved to a new home.
I can tell you I am not very good with computers, and am still on a learning curve.
That CD does nearly all the work for you, but it's quite an old one.
Just thought I would make that clear as no way am I a wizz at computers. LOL.
I never touched a computer till I started CD crafting in about 2005.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  12. Hello, Barb! Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving your sweet comment - you mentioned I won something. I have totally missed it. Do you remember what I won? Thank you!

  13. Super sweet card, Barb! Great way to make more use of a holiday die!

  14. Love when you can use stamps and dies in new and different ways, but would never have guessed that this one was a Christmas one! Fabulous card x
