Teal Butterfly

Hello and thank you for your visit.

The card that I'm sharing today was made for Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge # 53 - T is for Teal/Texture.

I used an Inspiration Crafts spritzer onto white card for the background and then rubbed over the white  spaces with Distress ink.  I rubbed texture paste through a mask and stamped the text into the spaces then used the same stamp onto the white linen card blank.

I couldn't believe my luck when I found a scrap of matching coloured paper just lying there on my desk.

I used a punch which leaves the image still attached for the butterfly then added the black card and sentiment to the bottom of the paper.

I matted the panel of paper onto white card and stuck the body of the butterfly down then finished by drawing antennae, adding a few pearls and dots of  Dovecraft enamel paste and of cause some glitter to the wings..

Relax!

Hello and Welcome

What a busy day it's been and no time to craft sadly.

First I'd like to welcome my new follower Kathleen. I do hope you will be able to pay a visit to her blog.

For this card today I used my new Woodware Slippers stamp and Tim Holtz alphabet dies.

The background papers and card candi are from a kit by Craftwork Cards and the black ribbon from my stash.

The slippers were coloured with Pro markers, paper peiced, cut out and stuck to the card with silicone glue.

I just had enough of the patterned paper to stamp two pairs of slippers and die cut the letter.

I put some Stick It onto the back of scraps of white card before cutting the letters out again so that the holes would stay in the card then marked them with a black pen and stuck on the paper letters.  I put some Glossy Accents on the letters after sticking them to the card.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;  Cardz4Guyz  "Wood in the Design"
Creative Fingers Challenge #107

Stencilled Bird.

Hello and thank you for your visit.

First I'd like to give a warm welcome to my new follower Lucy.  She makes such pretty cards so I hope you will visit her blog.

My card today was great fun to make.  I used two metal stencils by Stampendous which I bought recently.

I drew  round the bird with a fine liner pen then used the second stencil, which I moved around the bird and put the flowers where I wanted them.

The two larger flowers are on the bird stencil.  I coloured in using my Inktense watercolour pencils but didn't use a water colour brush to blend colours as I wanted a naive look to my card.

I cut out the bird and flowers and stuck them to the card with Pinflair glue gel.  The mauve background paper is a recycled envelope The strip at the bottom was cut from a piece I found in a box of mixed papers because the colours were such a good colour match.  I don't know which spritzers were used on the the paper as it was done so long ago.

I'm popping my card over to Pixie's Snippets Playground - Week 226

Carrot Nose!

Happy Rudolph Day  Again!

As it's 25th of the month it's time to join in with our hostess Mo at Scraps of Life by Scrappy Mo to share a Christmas card.

Here is mine which I stamped with a wooden stamp that I've had for years.  It's great for batch making as there's really just a little simple colouring in to do when time gets short.

I cut the 5inch scalloped card with a Spellbinders Grand die and inked lightly round the edge with red.

The snowflake was punched out and I added some glitter and added a Papermania Dewdrop.

I would also like to enter my card into the challenge at The Glory of Christmas blog #83

An Oldie on Friday

Good Afternoon,

for my second post today I'm linking up with Erika on her Snappy Crafts blog where she invites us to share an old craft project.

I have tried lots of different pass times but only had a little dabble at water colouring  back in 1993.

This is one of the few watercolours I have ever done.

I copied the picture from one of my old china painting books and was really pleased with the way it turned out.

Well I'm back from crafting with my friend Wendy and now looking forward to going out for our meal this evening with cousin Gary.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

This Weeks Smiles ...Week 166

Happy Friday Everybody,

A very quick post from me today as I am popping out shortly to Wendy's house to play in her craft attic.

This evening Hubby's cousin, who has been on a course quite near, is coming and wants to take us out for a pub meal.

So - a lovely start to the weekend.

The daffodils are in a pot in our garden and are called Bethan Sian.  My Hubby collects daffodils and these are one of his favourites.

I'm linking up with Annie's A Stitch in Time blog where she invites us to share our smiles each Friday.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend and I'll be around to visit later.

Fairy ATCs

Good Morning and thank you for dropping by today

First I'd like to give a very warm welcome to Hazel my new follower.  We've just found each other in blogland although we met about eight years ago in an ATC swap.

I only make 4 ATCs each month now for Jo's swap on A Little Piece of Me blogspot

These are the cards I made for the March swap where the theme was Magic.

I dabbed the background with a Ranger pewter paint stain.  It's the only one I have and I bought it as I thought it would work well in the future with my new Robot  stamp which I posted recently here..

Once the pewter was dry I stamped my fairy then added other colours with a baby wipe, rubbed Black Soot distress ink round the sides of the cards and on the bottom to ground the fairy.

I added glitter to the moon with a quickie glue pen a piece of punched leaf to the top and scribbled grass and flowers on the ground area.

The cards were difficult to photograph well because of the reflection from the pewter paint.
I would like to enter my ATCs into the Fab n Funky challenge # 30l  "Winged Things.

WOYWW #359

Happy Wednesday and today I'm pleased to be able to link up again  with the Stamping Ground blog where Julia  asks "What's on Your Desk Wednesday?"

Link to Julia's blog and then the fun comes visiting others' desks around the world and seeing what they are doing.

This is my desk today as it was left yesterday evening when I finished crafting.

I was playing with a couple of Stampendous  metal stencils which I bought recently.

I drew round the bird using one stencil then moved the other around on top of the bird and drew flowers where I wanted them.

My Inktense  water colour pencils are on my desk and there is as usual lots of clutter too.

Happy Crafting Everybody!

Rose in a Bottle!

Good Afternoon and I hope you're enjoying the lovely weather we have here today.

I've been having a play this afternoon and made this card for the Less is More Challenge.  It wasn't until I looked at the photo and realised I had used four stamps not three!

I folded an A6 sized card lengthways and rounded off the top right hand corner.

I used Koi watercolour pens for colouring the image.

The stamps and sentiment are from a Clearly Besotted set and after painting the rose I die cut it with the matching dies and raised it on sticky pads.

Finally I added a few Papermania shimmer dots for a bit of sparkle.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Another Way!

Happy Monday!

I hope you had a good weekend.

My card today is very similar to my last post.  Both backgrounds were done at the same time.

As I had none of the Paper Artsy flowers left I used some old stamps from a set by Glenda Waterman.

The colours on this card are much brighter than on the previous one and I decided to use a white card instead of kraft card this time.

I added a bit of clear Wink of Stella to parts of all the flowers.

As the blue flower looks a bit "in your face"  I think I may add buttons to the centres of the two yellow flowers before I call it finished and that blue flower certainly needs another leaf.  The sentiment is from a Paper Arts set and is distressed, not badly stamped this time.

I'm off the my Cross stitch circle this afternoon.  Enjoy the rest of your day.

Happy Flowers

Thank you for visiting today.

First I would like to give a warm welcome to my new follower Ghazala.  Perhaps you might like to drop in on her too.

Recently I went to a workshop where we made a card similar to the one I am sharing today.

Unfortunately I was unable to buy the stamp set we used,  Paper Artsy (by Lin Brown) I think, as their order hadn't arrived.  So I stamped a few extras of the flower heads to bring home.

As I hadn't  stamped the stems and leaves I drew some myself on scraps of white card, coloured them very roughly with distress inks and cut them out.

The flowers are also coloured with distress inks  and I put on the white dots with a white Sharpie  pen, which once well primed is a true white.

I tore up pieces from an old gardening book and some music craft paper for the background.  After sticking them down I rubbed over with Tea Dye distress ink and some Cut n Dry.

The strip of brown is old packaging and the button and raffia are from my stash.  I added a Wink of Stella clear to the central flower.

I'm taking my card over to enter into Pixies Snippet Playground - Week 225 and would also like to enter it into the Crafty Calendar Challenge for April - Anything Goes and
Brown Sugar Challenge blog #194

An Oldie on Friday

I can't believe it's Friday again - the day Erika invites us to link up with her Snappy Crafts blog to show a craft item we made some time ago.

First I would like to give a warm welcome to my new follower Anne.  Perhaps you would like to pop over and visit her blog Stamps and Paper.

Some years ago I used to make and swap lots of ATCs and this is one of them.  I stamped the background with a little lily of the valley stamp and used two little cards from a set of flower cards for the top.

The flowers were fussy cut from the front of the second card.  I cut out the fiddly bits at the top with a craft knife and added the little bow.

I have four ring binders full of beautiful swaps that were sent to me and often get them out and enjoy looking at the little works of art that craft buddies sent to me.

Now that I have my blog I only have time to join in with one swap  and just make four ATCs a month

Friday Smiles

 Happy Friday Everybody,

It's good to be back after a few weeks being absent.  I hope you've all had a good week.

Today I'm showing a couple of pictures I took at our village club on Monday.  Brenda who is standing in the brown jacket had a class where she taught us how to make dogs and owls using face flannels.

Brenda does lots of fundraising for the local hospice and we either paid for the animals we made or gave them to her for her fundraising.

Below is a picture of my brown dog and his little buddy who was made by my friend.  Neither of us are in the photos.

I haven't any special plans for the weekend but I did have a good time last week.  I went to Ally Pally on Saturday with friends and to a craft workshop on Sunday.

I hope you all enjoy the upcoming weekend whatever you have planned.  I'm linking with Annie on her Stitch in Time blog where every Friday we share things that have made us happy during the week.

Fuchsia Butterfly

Hello and thank you for visiting today.

First I would like to welcome my two new followers  Sue and Brenda. I think lots of you will already know them both well.

Well I've finally made my card to enter into Mrs A's F is for Fancy Folds and Fuchsia challenge on her Butterfly Challenge blog after racking my brains for something fuchsia coloured that I could use.

Suddenly remembering that I had a Sharpie pen in that colour I roughly  scribbled it onto some copier paper,  punched out two 2 inch  squares and "fancy folded" my butterfly wings.  I coloured a strip with a black marker which I used to make the paper bead body.  The antennae were made with craft wire.  I put a Wink of Stella clear on the wings and body.

I had fun making the background with a metal stencil I bought on Sunday at the Dabble Day workshop.  I moved the stencil around on the background drawing through it to make the flowers which I coloured with the same Sharpie pen and a yellow pencil then did a little doodling on the centres of the flowers and some petals..

As the background still looked a little empty I added the dots with the  Sharpie pen and added the small black butterfly which was in a packets of Papermania Vinyls,  kindly sent to me  recently by a blogland buddy.

The sentiment is from a well loved Hobby Arts set of sentiments.  I matted it all onto a black card after inking the edge with Mustard Seed Distress ink.

Robbie Robot

Something a little different from me today.

On Sunday I went to Dabble Day at Loobi Craft in Leighton Buzzard with two friends.  It's always a lot of fun although we do have to work hard to get everything finished.  We had lunch and they made us eat lots of cake in the breaks!

We left with five makes and this was one of them.  We used a Woodware set of stamps which included the sentiments as well as the robot.

The background was silver miri card which was embossed then distressed with a pewter Distress Stain by Ranger.

As the head, arms and legs were attached with little brads and only the body was attached to the background with foam tape he is moveable so would be a fun card for a child.

If you click on the picture of Robbie and then scroll up and down quickly with the mouse wheel you'll see him moving.

I would like to enter my card into Crafty Friends Challenge blog Week 29 where the theme is "For a Child"

Old Style!

Hello and thank you for your visit.

I've been absent for a few days as I've had a busy time.

Friday was busy with boring stuff but I went to Ally Pally on Saturday with friends and bought some new goodies.

Then on Sunday I went to Loobi Crafts Dabble day in Leighton Buzzard where we  had lots of fun.  We made 5 cards and decorated one board.  I've not taken photos yet but will show some another day.

As you may know I've been on a mission to use stuff up and that's how this card came about.  I found teabag papers that have been around for several years so decided to make a couple of cards as I've not done teabag folding for a long time and I did enjoy it.

I inked around the yellow paper with a purple distress ink and added the little corner die cuts to
finish off my card.  The sparkler in the centre was clear but I coloured it purple with a Sharpie pen.

As I used lots of snippetsI'm popping over to join in at Pixies Snippets Playground - Week 224 and I'd also like to enter my card into The Allsorts Challenge Week 356 where the theme is Purple Passion.

Gelli Print Sneakers!

Hello and Welcome,

I've  had this Woodware stamp "Sneakers" now for a couple of weeks and it's the first time I've used it.

I stamped the image onto my blank card in black Memento ink then coloured the soles with Promarkers.

Using a small stencil and some Inspiration Crafts Starlight paint I stencilled parts of the background.

I stamped the sneakers again onto a small piece of a gelli plate print and cut out the pieces I wanted to use. stuck them onto the image on the card and coloured the laces with a white Sharpie pen.

The sentiment was then stamped into the empty area but as I felt something was missing I stamped the stars in black and added some glitter for a bit of sparkle then inked some Black Soot round the edge of the card to pull it all together.

Silver Bird Cages

Hello and thank you for visiting.

I was inspired by the card Erika shared yesterday to get out my pastes, sparkle mediums and masks.

My hubby has been out all day so I had a day playing and this is one of the cards I've made.

I used this Inspiration Crafts mask and their silver glitter paste.

I think cleaning up and washing the masks took nearly as long as making my cards.

Anyway I really enjoyed the day doing something I've not done for a long time.

Happy Homes

Happy Tuesday to you all

I don't know about you but I have always been a fan of Leonie Pujol.  I enjoy her programmes every Wednesday afternoon on Hochanda and couldn't resist this set of Stampenduous stamps last week when I saw them being used.  It was the wonderful sentiments which I just had to have.

They arrived on Friday and I made this card on Saturday morning before the footie.

I stamped the houses on to the front of the card just to get he position then used Distress inks for the background and splattered a little water on the bottom part..

I stamped the houses onto a scrap of white card, coloured in with my new Koi watercolour pens then stuck them onto the card and drew the paving roughly,  adding a bit of Promarker for shading.

The sentiment is one from the set and I put a few birds in the sky.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges;

Baby Rabbit

Thank you for visiting today.  I hope you've enjoyed your weekend.

I was recently lucky enough to win a  Joanna Sheen voucher in Kath's candy giveaway.

I placed my order on Thursday and on Friday morning it arrived.  I was keen to play with my new goodies so made this baby girl card with my new lace border  and Easter Rabbit dies.

Now I couldn't wait a year to use that cute bunny could I.

The background is the de-bossed side of a Cuttlebug embossing folder which I rubbed over with Victorian Velvet Distress ink.

I used lots of snippets for this card so am popping it over to Pixies Snippets Playground Week 223.
I would also like to enter it into the challenge  at 613 Avenue#170 where Anything goes.  I don't know if it will qualify for the extra twist which  is A Whiter Shade of Pale.

An Oldie on Friday

Happy Friday!

So it's time to share an old craft project again when we're invited to link up with Erika on her Snappy Crafts blog.

This card was made using brass stencils and my little light box years before we had die cutting machines.

I used to use my lightbox regularly to dry emboss then rubbed ink with a dauber onto the raised area.

The credit card was stamped using a Stazon ink pad using a stamp from a set of CD stamps that were very popular and the background stamp is on a cube rubber stamp that I bought from Stamp Addicts.

Whatever your plans I hope you enjoy the weekend.
