My Hubby - My Valentine!

Happy Valentine's Day to you All

There's a little bit of a story to this card.  My husband generally opens the post and as he calls me a squirrel because I never throw anything away.   He puts aside any envelopes with interesting insides that he thinks I might want to use.

Well on Thursday I made this card with the inside of an evelope which he'd saved  earlier in the morning.  A few days before I'd been watching Hochanda and they were selling Cascade cards so I decided to
have a go at making one.

So - here is my Valentine's card for my husband using the envelope (and yes, he did recognise it).  I also used my new set of Tim Holtz dies called Scribbles and Splates .  I added a little sparkle to the heart with a Sakura pen, although it doesn't show in the photo and the splat which was far too big was cut into pieces and separated to fit the card.

I used a Hero Arts set of stamps for the sentiment  and the small hearts .

One of the strips of envelope wasn't quire long enough so I cut it in half for the front piece and left a small gap behind the sentiment but I think it works quite well.

For the lips on the inside of the card I inked through a small stencil which is meant for cake decoration.  I bought it at a craft show several years ago.  I knew it would come in useful one day!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges

  29. Another clever idea Barb and yet another interesting envelope inner. I love the TH dies and the luscious lips too. I am so unadventurous when it comes to card shapes nowadays. I have made one this shape but many moons ago! I also inherited a stamp very similar to the lips you have used and seeing your card has just reminded me of its existence, so perhaps I will use it on DH's card next year, if I remember ...lol. I'm sure your husband will have loved this. x
