Very Rustic!

Good afternoon on this wet and windy Wednesday.

After watching  You Tube last evening I decided to have a go at a Corner fold card.  I didn't follow the sizes just cut an A6 card and had a go.

It really is a proto type and I had no idea how I was going to decorate it when I began.  I just wanted to have a go at a different type of card.

I used some of those shiny papers that come in magazines.  I don't often use them as they aren't very easy to work with and I have lots of much  nicer papers in my stash.  However they were handy so that's what I used.

I was very pleased with how it turned out so decided to post it this afternoon.  There were a few rough edges so I did lots of inking round the edges.

I used my Stampin Up owl punch and even he is punched from scraps of white paper that I just  scribbled onto with Promarkers before punching him out.

His chest is the back of the card where the Promarker bled through!   I stuck scraps of the paper onto white card to give strength and punched them out and the bow is made from a piece of string that was on the floor of my cabin!!!!   I should probably be ashamed to admit this hehehe!  But I did have fun.

I'm going to pop this over to Pixies Snippets Playground  after making a coffee and also

That owl punch is so useful. Great shaped card Barb. But . . . er, did you have too much grog at the Treehouse last night? It's WEDNESDAY all day here!

I'm serving up more hooch in the Playground Tree House this evening but I think you'd better stick to dancing on top of the bar!

Hi Barb,
I like your card very well! I am often, -or mostly -, making A6 cards, so thank you for this great idea for that size. My cards are still a bit boring, and I find your corner fold card very good.
Have a nice WEDNESDAY evening ;)
Hugs, Liv

That is a great card. Funny how we crafters can overcome things that go wrong so easily.

I love trying new things, and this looks very inviting...you did a FANTASTIC job on it.

Going back over your week, I fell in love with your daisy card and the one with the velum flowers on it.........both are so pretty.

Thanks for the visit and the comment

That worked really well, clever you! I'm useless at figuring things out, always have to learn from others! Love the owl, and a great way to use up the papers!

You did a marvelous job on your corner folded card. The owl punch is so much fun to use, but those little pieces are hard for me to pick up. I like the attention to detail, with the little bow and tiny hearts cut out with the designer paper.

I think inking the edges is my go to technique for every card ( even if its not distressed haha) so, until I read that I didn't even see that part. the folded angle looks really cool with this and the owl is just darling :) tfs

What a lovely card! I should be using the magazine papers too you know. I have quite a few mags with papers etc in them. I love your owl. And it is useful too as an owl can be any sort of card really.
Thank you for taking the trouble to visit and for your sweet comment.
Greetings from sunny Spain,
Lisca

What a coincidence, I was only thinking this week that I'd never made a corner fold card and really must have a go at one! I find the same with the papers from magazines, a lot of them are glossy and also so flimsy that if you're not careful with your choice of adhesive the print on the other side shows through! So mine often get wasted. You've put everything together into a gorgeous card

It's always nice to try something new Barb, a super folded owl card. Great colour scheme too. It reminds me that I bought an owl die similar to yours and haven't used it yet. I am so bad at that.

Hugs Erika. x

I like that your bow came from a random piece on the floor. This card is quite delightful. I applaud you for using the papers from a magazine. I collect them with good intent, but it doesn't happen.
