For Lily!

Hello and thank you for popping by!

First I'd like to welcome my new follower Tracy who makes some beautiful cards.  I hope you'll have time to visit her blog.

The card I'm showing today was made for my friend who celebrated a Special Birthday on Christmas Day.

She made me laugh when she told me recently that when she was at Primary School the teacher asked the children "Who was born on Christmas Day" - you guessed it.  Lily put up her hand and  proudly told the class  "I was".

This parchment card was made using a Christine Coleman pattern.    I drew the outlines with a black fine liner and coloured the back of the flowers and leaves with Promarkers.

It was the background pricking and embossing and the cutwork which took the longest time to do.

I mounted the card onto some pastel rainbow paper and strengthened it by putting a white card inside.

I would like to enter my card into the Promarkers Challenge Week 329 - Flower Power

Really beautiful - I was hoping the image was a stamp, though, then I could get one like it!

This is beautiful Barb, so delicate and pretty. I've only tried parchment craft a couple of times and gave up because it was too time consuming and intricate for me, so I admire anyone who can do this craft.

What a fabulous card Barb . . . and story about your friend in school! Bless her ;) I always admire these parchment cards and the talented people (such as yourself) who create them, but don't think I'd have the talent, or even patience for it, it must be very labour intensive. But I suppose when it results in stunners like these, it is probably worth it! Gorgeous, just gorgeous! Have a lovely day! Hazel xx

This is so pretty in the white areas, and looks like such a delicate design to color in the pastel shades. I've never worked on parchment. Cute backstory...and your friend will love this special card. TFS & Hugs
