Hello and here I am back again this afternoon with one of my "oldies"
Erika from snappycrafts blog invites us to link with her each Friday where we show one of our old cards or other craft items. If you join in leave a comment for Erika and she'll return the visit.
My card today was only five years ago although the topper was made some time before that and sat in a box of bits.
I'd used a Judikins wood mounted stamp to gold emboss onto the shiny orange paper. I put fine glitter on the bodice and cut out the dress. I mounted with foam pads onto an oval I'd made using one of the Glitter Girls boards which were very popular at the time. The oval was rubbed over with metallic rub-ons (now we use gilding wax).
I'm not sure which embossing folder I used and the photo isn't very good. The sentiment is by Paula Pascal. I really don't like the way I've mounted it but obviously did five years ago. I do like that dress though!
Happy Crafting and Thank You for visiting, Have a good weekend.

A lovely dress stamp, Barb. I love how you've added glitter on the bodice. Isn't it interesting how we look back at cards we made in the past and see how our styles of cardmaking change. x
Barb I do love to look back at previous projects. I think this dress is beautiful and could be used for so many different occasions.
Thanks for joining me in sharing an oldie today and have a super crafty weekend.
Hugs Erika. x
Oh this is beautiful Barb, I love the dress and your design, great oldie, Kate x
I think it's a lovely card Barb ☺ You're super talented. I'm going to try to link up to Erika too. Such a great idea.
Thanks Barb for your message.... had a look and you are right. :) I am over the moon.

Very pretty card! We need a bit of glitter and gold sometimes
Have a nice weekend!

Lovely card Barb. Isn't it funny how our tastes change...even in card making!!
Hugs

Beautiful JudiKins stamp & love the elegant look you've given it! I need to use my JudiKins stamps--were some of my favorites when I started stamping!
Great oldie Barb such a beautiful dress, the texture and colour of the paper you stamped on were a great choice
Love the dress. The glitter girls, that takes me back, I never succumbed to buying any of their boards, but will confess to owning one of their glitter ball tools. It was the largest size ball tool I could find at the time to make the flowers with for my wedding bouquet (picture lurking on my blog somewhere - maybe I'll drag it out yo join in next week's oldies)
I'll visit after dinner and scroll through for a look. Barbxx
This is so stunning with the gold color and added glitter! Very feminine and so very pretty too!
Lovely card...love the pretty dress....I looked back on some of my cards I made...over 5 years ago....O dear....and my family and friends brought them! Joolsx
Gorgeous Barb! The dress reminds me of when I was little and played in my grandma's attic. She had all of my mom's old dance dresses and other formal gowns up there and a wonderful old dressing table. I was in heaven playing dress up.
