Their Golden Weddding

Good Morning to you all.

I made this parchment card to celebrate the Golden Wedding Anniversary of my friend Jacky and her husband last Friday.

My hubby and I had been really looking forward to celebrating this special day with them but as many of you know I was ill last week and so we were unable to go.  We didn't miss out on the cake however as Jacky kindly brought some along for us on Monday morning.

As you can imagine this card took quite a long time to make and it wasn't until I had almost finished that I realised, to my horror, that I'd had a senior moment and coloured with pink instead of yellow.

Unfortunately I didn't have time to make another one because as usual I'd left myself short of time.   So after a bit of thought and a few choice words I decided to use a gold glitter card behind the parchment.  You can see some of it behind the cut outs in the corners.

Fortunately I'd given the card to Jacky a few days before the Big Day so she did have it in time although we weren't able to be there.

I hope you enjoy your weekend.

Hi Barb,
oh this is soooooooooo! gorgeous.
Lovely design and wonderful work involved.
I am not surprised it took you ages, as it's so beautiful.
I do admire anyone that can parchment craft, as I have tried it and I am too heavy handed for it.
Isn't it a pity you never got to go to the celebrations.
Still I'm sure you card was very much appreciated.
I do hope you have a lovely weekend.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

WOW! What an amazing work of art Barb! I bet your friend was over the moon . . . I would have been, regardless of the colour (and I think that colour is beautiful anyway) what patience you must have too, I have always admired Parchment work, but wouldn't have the patience myself to do it! Great job! Have a lovely weekend! Hazel xx

Barb, this card is SO beautiful and perfect for a Golden Wedding Anniversary, and even if pink wasn´t what you aimed for to begin with I think it turned out to the best. Lovely! They must love your card!!! and what a good friend she is bringing you cake when you missed the party. Enjoy your weekend too.

You really knocked this anniversary card out of the park! It's stunning and looks perfect in pink! It's the thought of a very special hand-made card that counts - not the colors! I just love this one!!

Oh my, I've not worked with parchment, but I've seen it done at some stamp shows, and it is very painstaking work. This is just stunning, and I love the color that you have on the lovely flowers. And the touch of gold was perfect. It was truly a labor of love, and your friend is a very special person to receive it as well. Many congratulations on this wonderful milestone, and I'm so glad you got to share in the celebration with some cake. It is just one amazingly beautiful card! Well done. TFS

I have been looking back at your lovely cards Barb and although I am rather late I just wanted to leave a comment as this is just such beautiful and meticulous work and must have taken you quite a time to do and the gold backing makes it perfect for the occasion. Your friend Jacky and her husband will treasure this forever! x
