A Friday Oldie

Hello and welcome to my little place in blogland.

Today I'm showing a card I made quite a few years ago now which unfortunately wasn't photographed very well.

I used an old wood mounted set which consisted of the two birds, a nest and an egg, which I used to stamp for the background.

I tore a piece of watercolour card from the block, cut off a strip and stamped the two birds in black then added a little watercolour pink to colour them.

For the strip on the left I used the "caught in crystal" technique which I've not used for a long time.

Inks were put onto some acetate then spritzed with water. Then I put glossy accents on top and sprinkled on a little glitter.  To finish I covered it all with tissue paper that had been screwed up then opened out and left it for a few hours to dry.

I added the dragonfly brad after colouring his body with a black permanent marker.

I'm going to link up on Erika's blog where she asks us to share an old card each Friday.

Have a lovely weekend.

Hello Barbs, I just had to pop over and visit you after you've left such a lovely comment on my blog. thank you for visiting. Lovely to see that you've joined in with Erika's Friday Oldie with this beautiful card. In fact I've been scrolling down and looking at your other lovely creations.
Yes I do knit socks, and I love wearing them handknitted socks, I spend a lot on yarn for them, but I think it's worth it. My blog name is a combination of my love of socks and my beautiful cat Cuillin, who is sadly no long here. He loved my socks, well more the yarn really, hence the ame Cuilliesocks. My hubby is a mountain climber and the Cuillins range in Skye is one of his favourites, so that was where our beautiful got his name. Our new by is called Teallach after another mountain. I've pressed your follow button. Hope you come back and visit me, Kate x

That vertical panel is stunning, and I've never heard of it before! I'm betting it looks even better IRL! The birds look perfect with the subtle pink coloring too!

Hello again Barbs, my apologies to you and the reason you didn't see my icon was that I came out out of your blog before I pressed the button, and hadn't realised until you mentioned it on mine. Senior moment!!, Kate x

Just lovely. THat background is amazing with the glimmer & shine. This is a technique that is new to me, but I LOVE the look. Of course I think the little birds are just delightful. Beautifully executed and a wonderful look to the entire card. TFS & Have a great weekend.
