Thank You Phil!

Hello and thank you for dropping by.

I've had a busy week and am looking forward to a fun weekend.  Tomorrow I'm off to a workshop with a friend to make Christmas cards and on Saturday going to a workshop in our village hall with another friend.  The demonstrators are Julia Watts and Leonie.  I'm very excited!!!

You may remember I was taking a course of refresher driving lessons .
Well I've been getting out and about a bit but continued with lesson for a while as I still felt I lacked some confidence.

Last Tuesday I had my last - a two hour lesson with Phil my instructor.

It was very special as I drove from home up the M1 and  M6  to and through Rugby and back.  I can tell you I was buzzing when I got home.

This is the thank you card I made for Phil for giving me the confidence to get out there again.

The bird was made with a Marianne die set.  It is actually a Christmas robin set.  There are various dies to make two different robins plus some holly.   Anyway, I thought it could be any bird so made this one up with small scraps from my box.  The background paper is from a pad I bought at a table top sale I went to recently.

I hope you have a good weekend, whatever you have planned.

What a neat card! I like the cording in the bird's beak so he can carry your greeting for you. It's a picture of loveliness! (ugh I misspelled that and spell check suggested I meant 'slovenliness' what?!!!) Great job taking driving lessens. I think driving is not exactly an easy task. I refuse to do highways and try hard to avoid driving at night.

Hi Barb,
so glad your driving has at last given you the confidence to do this journey.
I do miss driving now that my eyes won't let me as this was one of my things I always wanted to do.
Luckily it doesn't affect my crafting yet.
Your card is a wonderful way to thank the instructor, and such a lovely design too.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Well done you, a great achievement Barb as driving is scary these days with so much traffic now, not to mention the edgits behind the wheels.
Lovely card, the image is so pretty and super colours too, Kate x

I'm very impressed by your motorway driving, I try and avoid having to do that. I much prefer tootling back and forward to work at my own pace. Well done for facing your fears and getting out and about. What a cute little bird and I love the paper you've used. I'm envious if the workshops too, have a great time. x

So pleased your refresher lessons have gone so well Barb and that last lesson sounded like a marathon but you obviously did so well and enjoyed it. I love your pretty card and the sweet little bird cut with snippets, and the sentiment tag hanging from its beak is such a great idea. I hope you enjoyed your workshop and also seeing Julia and Leonie, a great crafty weekend by the sounds of it. Our local craft shop have had at different times, Sue and Julia and John and Phil from Creative Expressions, and Kay from Indigoblu, and I enjoyed meeting them, apart from John and Phil as I couldn't go. The shop has shut now and only sells on line so that won't be happening any more I'm afraid. x
