Waste!

Hello and thank you for your visit today.

Sorry to be behind with my visits yet again.  I seem to be having a very busy year. There have been some very sad things happening over the past few months then more recently it has been a bit more positive.

After losing my confidence with driving,  I've hardly driven at all in the past 10 years, I decided I really needed to do something about it!  So - I've just had my second refresher/lesson and feeling very determined and positive about it!  I'll keep you posted!

I recently bought the  Chrysanthemum dies by Sue Wilson and cut the flowers out in various sizes.

I often keep the waste to use as stencils but decided instead to make a couple of quick cards this time.

I cut the waste into a few pieces and sprayed with some old sprays bought years ago from Create  and Craft then sprayed with water.

Next I mounted onto offcuts of black card and added a few gems, card candi, thread and sentiments.  I ended up making four similar cards with my waste.  I'm showing two today.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge:
Pixies Snippets Workshop - Week 291 & 292

They both look fabulous Barb but my favorite would be the top one. I use a lot of wastes aswell lately. It's amazing what you can achieve with them isn't it?! Good luck with the driving, I'll keep my thumbs up. Hugs Veerle x

Well done for using the 'waste' from die cutting - these are two great cards and good for the snippets challenge too. Sometimes the waste is as good (or better) than the actual die cuts!

What a fun way to use leftover negative cuts to make a 2nd card! I like both of them! I'm happy to hear things are positive these days and best wishes as you attempt to resume driving again. It's really a rat race on the roads here in the US, and I don't drive often either.

Congratulations on taking lessons and learning to drive again - I was a very late starter to driving, and have never regretted learning.
You cards are such fun using the negative die cuts - love them, they are wonderfully dramatic.

A woman after my own heart keeping and using scraps like this!
I could spend an age trying to get the look of that first card from scratch.
Fantastic. Love them. x

Hi Barb,
what a very brilliant card made from your waste.
This is so very lovely and I really like the colours.
The second one which your waste came from is super also.
Here's hoping life is kinder to you soon.

Well done on signing up for those re-fresher lessons. That must have been quite a hard thing to do after having a break for so long.

Well done for getting back in to driving again Barb after your long break away from it, glad to hear it's all going well.
A super card using the waste cut out, often these bits get put in the bin but you've shown here just what can be achieved with them.

Two fabulous cards. Congratulations on tackling the driving again, I hope the refresher course boosts your confidence. I think we all ought to take refresher courses to get rid of our bad habits. Take care x

two fab cards - nice to make something from nothing so to speak.
Well done with the driving. The roads are so fast these days and if you haven't driven for 10 years it will take a bit of getting used to again. You will be whizzing about in no time.

Love these, just my sort of card. Interested to hear your concerns about driving. When I retired I didn't use my car for some time and it took me a while to really get back to enjoying the driving again. Have a great weekend, Angela xXx

Two lovely cards. It's amazing what can be done with the waste rather than throwing it away. Good luck with the driving!

What a great idea to use the waste in this way. The negative shapes of the flowers are so interesting and pretty and the black gives great contrast to the sprayed snippets. Great designs and made into four cards too! Good luck with your refresher driving lessons. x
