Parchment Card & Box

Hello and thank you for your visit!

This is a card I was going to make for a friend's Special Birthday next week..  Well I got a phone call from her hubby during the week asking if I'd make a special card for him to give to her.  I won't have time to make another parchment card now so here's John's card for Lesley's birthday.

John is going to print his own insert for the card so I left the front free of a name or sentiment.

I decided to make a box to put the card in.

For the box I used two stencils in two different Distress inks in blue and a blush of pink, my old French script stamp and a couple of dies.  The flower is by Sue Wilson.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Crafting from the Heart # 165 (Anything Goes)

A bit more time to Craft #47 ( Anything goes)

Absolutely stunning, Barb, a real labour of love. I'm sure your friend will be delighted to receive it. Love the box too, so beautifully decorated. I'd love to be able to make something like this, but I wouldn't know where to start and if I did, the result would be nothing like this! LOL! xx

WOW!! this card is so beautiful Barb. I love the look of parchment cards although I've never made one. I don't think my eyesight is quite good enough and I am a bit clumsy as well. Your friend is really going to love this and the lovely presentation box.

This is just exquisite work. I don't have the patience for parchment, I tried a class once and the lady kept telling me to emboss more, and more and more to get it whiter - not for me!

Absolutely fantastic Barb! This is truly skilful work and it looks as though you have decoupaged the petals on these gorgeous lilies, and the subtle colouring works beautifully. The accompanying box with that pretty stencilling is perfect to put it in to make a wonderful gift. Your friend will be absolutely thrilled with this I'm sure. x

This IS gorgeous... and typical that you had a phone call that wouldn't give you enough time. I don't think people realise just how long detailed designs can take to make. Bet she loved it. xxx
