Wooden Bunny

Good Afternoon - although it's still morning to me!

I watched the US election last night so didn't get up until midday.

The background was from a recent workshop I did using Pixie powders.

As  I didn't like the garish butterfly that was on the card  I threw it away when I got home and retrieved the green background.

The bunny was diecut  with a piece of balsa wood which previously held a macaroni cheese ready meal.

When I cut him out his ears turned up because of the shape of the box so I had to soak him with water to flatten the ears before stamping him with the old French Script,  Then I shaded round the edge with distress ink.  He's a Sizzix Bigz die.

His eye is Ranger black enamel and the bow was diecut from a piece of paper from my box of snippets.

I'm off to join in at Pixies Snippets Playground - Week 254  and also
Brown Sugar Challenge ~223 Anything Goes

Lovely card, Barb. The bunny is a real cutie and looks great on your fab background. I didn't stay up for the US election so imagine my shock on waking this morning - what a result! Elizabeth xx

A great bit of upcycling here and no doubt you enjoyed the macaroni cheese as well, not that I've ever come across any meals packed in balsa wood so will have to keep an eye out for some. The pixie powders are great fun and I've recently started playing with some of the colours.

What a great piece of upcycling - I've never seen a ready meal packed in balsa but I'd buy it just for the packaging after seeing this

Hehehe! It does have a thick paper lining! xx

It's a Charlie Bingham with lots of croutons and pieces of speck on top. Always my choice when hubby's out for the day although it is meant to be a meal for two!!!

He's brilliant! I love how you've recycled something and to stamp the script on top is a great idea. I like your Pixie Powder background - I'm still playing with Pixie Powders I like what I've made but not really used them on a project yet!

Awesome card! I love that you made such a happy spring card. I'm ready for warmer weather already! :-) Mr. Bunny is very lovely.

He he, you are so inventive. The bunny looks great with the script stamped on. Some bunny will love it. (You are not the only one who rips cards apart and re-uses bits!)

Hi Barb

A great card .. .. love that the bunny is a recycled wooden carton. I think the only thing we get as wood packaging is the smelly round cheese that we put in the oven. I somehow doubt that would ever smell nice enough to use LOL!!

I love the little bow you have added to the bunny.

In response to your comment .. .. I don't think Mr Heart will be retiring just yet ... ... and we are planning that he will do it gradually. Reducing by a day a week. Well that's the plan at the moment.

Hope you are having a good week.

Love Jules xx

Such a sweet bunny, I really like how used the script stamp on it. I'm glad you gave him a new life.
The card turned out adorable.

Ho clever Barb - that bunny is fabulous! And I did chortle about the balsa wood as I immediately 'twigged' it was most likely a Charlie Bingham product! Not one I've tried - yet. But we do love his Chicken and Mushroom pies in the white ceramic dishes. Of course, now we have enough of those dishes to prepare and freeze a batch of fruit crumbles - and still have a load spare in the cupboard!

Adorable! Enjoyed reading the creation story of this cute bunny. Lucky you to have a workshop with the Pixie powders, which must be similar to the Brusho & Colorburst products (recently saw a video demo-ing the PPowders!) Love that background, and I love how you redesigned using this nifty balsa wood bunny. Good idea to add the text on his little self. Well done! TFS & Hugs
