Christmas ATC

Hello and I hope you're enjoying your day.  It's been a lovely sunny one here - a nice change from yesterday.

I don't do a lot of cross stitching any more and I don't make many ATCs  these days.

This is one of a set I made for a swap last year although I haven't shown it before.

I coloured my card with distress ink then stamped randomly with an old wood mounted rubber stamp then lifted some colour off.

I added some sparkle with a glitter pen and used a white gel pen for the white dots.

I finished with the sentiment and a star gem on the tree.

I'm entering it  at The Allsorts Challenge #387 - Lets make a start on Christmas

What a sweet little ATC. I have a card that someone cross stitched my initial on. I was blown away by the combination of two crafts. I still am with your lovely creation.

This has such a unique and home-spun look, and I love the little patch of cross stitching!

Oh, lovely! That cross stitch must be tiny, bearing in mind the size of the ATC. I did do a little cross stitch project a year or so back, but in the time since my cross stitch crazy days it appears that the eyes of all my needles have shrunk, as have the holes in the aida fabric. Either that or my arms have got shorter....

I used to do a lot of cross stitch but not any more. Little things like this are nice and quick aren't they. Clever to lift the colour like that on your lovely background. It gives much more interest.

Cross stitch was a skill I could never master (and it should be SO easy!) I love the look so much. It's clever of you to be able to incorporate this tiny piece into a pretty card. Loved the background, and it shows off the xstitched tiny tree just beautifully. The DI color & shading of the background, with the overstamped design, just sets off the green of this tree so perfectly. Well done! TFS & Hugs (glad you had some nice sunshine today).

Good morning Barb

What a sweet little Christmas tree .. .. just perfect for an ATC. Great background too!

I used to make loads of cross stitch cards and pictures years ago. In fact I still have a couple of pictures not finished .. .. one being a huge Victorian Dolls House. I wonder if it will ever get completed?!?!?

Love Jules xx
