Old Style!

Hello and thank you for your visit.

I've been absent for a few days as I've had a busy time.

Friday was busy with boring stuff but I went to Ally Pally on Saturday with friends and bought some new goodies.

Then on Sunday I went to Loobi Crafts Dabble day in Leighton Buzzard where we  had lots of fun.  We made 5 cards and decorated one board.  I've not taken photos yet but will show some another day.

As you may know I've been on a mission to use stuff up and that's how this card came about.  I found teabag papers that have been around for several years so decided to make a couple of cards as I've not done teabag folding for a long time and I did enjoy it.

I inked around the yellow paper with a purple distress ink and added the little corner die cuts to
finish off my card.  The sparkler in the centre was clear but I coloured it purple with a Sharpie pen.

As I used lots of snippetsI'm popping over to join in at Pixies Snippets Playground - Week 224 and I'd also like to enter my card into The Allsorts Challenge Week 356 where the theme is Purple Passion.

Wow, stunning look for your card! I have never seen this, your folding technique is so clever! Love the sparkling center of the flower, too, and the pretty corners!

A gorgeous card, Barb! Beautiful soft colours. I used to do loads of teabag folding! Brought back memories, but not sure I'd remember the folds any more! Maybe we should start a revival?

I've not seen tea bag folding for some time - another blast from the past but very good for the Snippets challenge.

Another technique that deserves to be revived, your card looks lovely and the addition of the die cuts has given it a great bang up to date look that none of us could ever have achieved when the technique was at the height of popularity. I've got a CD of beautiful printable teabag papers that I think I only used once, it's been gathering dust for years. Time to blow the cobwebs away from it!

A lovely card Barb, I haven't seen tea bag folding for ages.
I hope you enjoyed your day at Ally Pally. I was there on Saturday too and enjoyed it. Came home with a little lighter purse and some heavy bags!

This is really lovely, Barb. The teabag folding is perfect. Well done on using up some of your old stash. I've got some teabag papers somewhere that must be at least 10 years old. Perhaps I need to dig them out and use them! xx

You do sound like you've been busy Barb, but in a good way. This card has brought back some memories for me as I used to do lots of tea bag folding when I first started card making, that and peel offs. Your card is lovely and I really like the colours that you've used. X

Hi Barb,
wonderful use of snippets for this lovely card.
Great to see the teabag folding again.
Wonderful colouring of that dazzler also.
I am very envious of you going to Ally Pally as I have wanted to go for a couple of years now.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Always love hearing the names of the towns & villages in your part of the world, and Leighton Buzzard just sounds like a most interesting place! Glad you had a fun day in a craft shop after enjoying a craft show with your buddies. Can't beat all that for enjoying life. I have never done tea bag folding. I took a class in Iris folding, then made nothing else! (well, I did cut up a bunch of papers 'to do something' - but they are still here somewhere!). Your medallion is just gorgeous, and what a beautiful ornament for the card you did create to top that lacy doily. TFS & Hugs

It's good to see teabag folding again, I do like it. I've probably got some squares somewhere. The papers look lovely and good use of a Sharpie!

Hi Barb. Had to pop over and thank you for the lovely comment you left me, you are very kind. I am impressed with your effort to use up your old stash but also feeling very guilty as I know I need to do the same. Lucky you going to Ally Pally bet you had a great time. Have a lovely crafty week, Angela x

I love that purple centerpiece. Clever you to color a clear one. Now that you mention it why do we need to buy colored one? We can get any color we need with Sharpies. Pretty teabag card! I like seeing these old styles. It makes me wonder what goodies I have tucked away.
