My Hubby - My Valentine!

Happy Valentine's Day to you All

There's a little bit of a story to this card.  My husband generally opens the post and as he calls me a squirrel because I never throw anything away.   He puts aside any envelopes with interesting insides that he thinks I might want to use.

Well on Thursday I made this card with the inside of an evelope which he'd saved  earlier in the morning.  A few days before I'd been watching Hochanda and they were selling Cascade cards so I decided to
have a go at making one.

So - here is my Valentine's card for my husband using the envelope (and yes, he did recognise it).  I also used my new set of Tim Holtz dies called Scribbles and Splates .  I added a little sparkle to the heart with a Sakura pen, although it doesn't show in the photo and the splat which was far too big was cut into pieces and separated to fit the card.

I used a Hero Arts set of stamps for the sentiment  and the small hearts .

One of the strips of envelope wasn't quire long enough so I cut it in half for the front piece and left a small gap behind the sentiment but I think it works quite well.

For the lips on the inside of the card I inked through a small stencil which is meant for cake decoration.  I bought it at a craft show several years ago.  I knew it would come in useful one day!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges

Barb, you are so frugal, and funny. I love that you saved the inside of the envelope. That is so something I would do, but my dear Barb, you turned it into something just beautiful.. What a lovely card for your sweetheart.. Happy Valentine's Day ♥

Well what about that for recycling! I love this idea Barb, never thought to use those fancy envelopes before. Your card turned out beautifully and I'm sure hubby loved it, especially as he was the source of the main materials :)

Barb, great reusing and recycling. A super card, you have just reminded me that I bought those dies to make some pictures with and haven't got around to doing it. Thanks, now where did I put them. I love the hot lips too. Great cascade card.

Hugs Erika. x

Another clever idea Barb and yet another interesting envelope inner. I love the TH dies and the luscious lips too. I am so unadventurous when it comes to card shapes nowadays. I have made one this shape but many moons ago! I also inherited a stamp very similar to the lips you have used and seeing your card has just reminded me of its existence, so perhaps I will use it on DH's card next year, if I remember ...lol. I'm sure your husband will have loved this. x
