A Shiny Shoe!

Evening All and I hope you've had a good day.

I call Monday "Play Day" as I go to a craft club in the morning and a cross stitch circle in the afternoon and they're both in our village.  So Monday's dinner is always an easy cook meal.

This card was made a while ago using the inside of another envelope for the background paper.  I did emboss this one.

I'm really not tight, I promise, it's just a bit of a personal challenge to try to use up junk!

I drew round a Wendy Stenton shoe stencil on the front of my card then cut it out being careful to keep a hinge at the back of the shoe.

Then I tore off  pieces of ordinary masking tape and covered the shoe with them.  Next I rubbed distress ink all over the masking tape and finally heat embossed it three times with clear embossing powder.

The heart was from my stash and also the flower.  I added a brad to the centre  after cutting off the legs and the sentiment is a rubber stamp bought from Stamp Addicts several years ago.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:-
613 Avenue #163 Anything Goes
Alphabet Challenge blog - Y for You Choos
Shopping Our Stash - Bent Out of Shape

I think it's wonderful how you manage to recycle items that would ordinarily get tossed in the trash! I love this shiny patterned shoe and the way it sparkles.

This so reminds me of a pair of crocodile leather type shoes I had back in my hay day!!

You´re very inventive using "junk". I could never tell the background is from an envelope. Great idea with the shoe and the masking tape. I like the shiny look and I like the sentiment too.

I love using things up too - hate to throw anything away- Is that a stamp or your hand writing ? fab!

A stamp I'm afraid. My handwriting isn't good.

Wow, I take my hat off to you and your inventiveness, although I suspect you'd dissemble my hat and make cards out of it! Great card. Cara x

Such a cool card, Barb! Love how you shined up the shoe! I saved a bunch of envelope paper too - I used to use it for iris folds, which I rarely make any more. But I can't throw them away!

What a clever idea using masking tape to make the mock croc look to the shoe Barb, must certainly give that a whirl, and an envelope inside too, which I would never have thought to use! This would be great for a handbag too. x

Oh my gosh! Love texture on the shoe. It looks like shiny leather, so realistic. Great card and I chuckled at the envelope background liner. Just tossed a stash of those out as I never remember to use them.

love how you hinged the shoe and that texture is very effective. I also go to a club on mondays :) xxx

I LOVE how you've recycled to such a great background (that's not cheap, that is smart designing!) It looks quite subtle with this wonderful shoe you've created. the color of the shoe looks very pretty with the pale stripes of the background. It's awesome that you took non-craft materials to create such a unique & lovely card. Good for you! Thinking out of the box on this one. TFS & Hugs
