Hugs and Kisses

Hello and thank you for your visit.

Last week I got a magazine and they were explaining how to make floating cards.

I forgot to take my magazine up to my cabin so I didn't have the right dimensions but this card was very easy and fun to make.

It's a 5 inch square card and I cut a  section out of the front of the card, stuck a square of paper on the inside then decorated with snippets of Stampin Up papers that I had embossed.

I used stuff that I still had out on my desk from making my hubby's valentine card.

The heart was stencilled onto a scrap of card then I added red Sakura starlight pen to give some glimmer.

I attached the white card to the stripey paper then matted onto black card and stuck the panel on to join the top and bottom pieces of the card  front together.

The sentiments are Hero Arts stamps.   The red heart gems were from my stash and are one of the first things I ever bought.

I think I'll probably make a lot more of this type of card as it's quick, fun to do and you can certainly use up lots of scraps.

I would like to enter my card into the following:-

Is your floating card fairly stable? I've been thinking about trying one since I've wondered about the stability. Anyway, this is really cool. Love the stuff you pulled together for this.

Hi Judy, yes it's surprisingly stable. I think you just need to make sure you have a wide enough piece to join the top and bottom pieces of the card. Barbxx

I didn't realise at first that it was real open space there, I thought you must have used a strip of acetate. I'm very impressed that it doesn't sag or buckle, must give it a try. I love the bold, bright design and colours you've used
