What a hoot!

Hello everyone.  I hope you're enjoying your weekend.

First of all I'd like to welcome my new friend Virginia.  I'm so glad that you joined me here.

I was having a bit of a sort out a couple of weeks ago and came across this messy bit of water colour paper that's been hanging around for ever.  I almost threw it out then decided to see if I could resurrect it.

I had to wrack my brain to try to remember which leaf stamp I'd used.  It's from a Kidomo set.  I have heard that they are no longer trading and I used to love their stamps.

I used the stamp on the edge of a kraft card and then stamped it a number of times over the water colour paper.  Then I mounted the watercolour card onto black card and die cut the circle.

The owl was stamped  on the front of the kraft card where the hole would be then I coloured him, added Glossy accents to his beak and mounted it up.

I've had some of these leaf brads, in autumn colours for several years and I thought the red one matched well.

The owl and sentiment are from a Hobby Arts set called "Owls" I think.

I would like to enter this card into Miss Di's  Snippets Playground Week 205      and also
The Allsorts Challenge blog where the theme is autumn colours.

Thank you for your visit and Happy Crafting Everyone!

What a wonderful lesson that we shouldn't throw things away! I love how you took the original watercolour and made that fabulous background and the owl peeping through is a great design idea.

Love the leaf motifs that you carried over to the kraft base. Especially like the top layer with the pops of watercolor and the leaf overstamped. It's very pretty, and delightful with the cute owl perched in the leaves. Also liked the top pic of the watercolors. I'm rubbish with W/C - so always enjoy seeing what others have created using the technique. TFS & Hugs.
