Smiles for Friday

Happy Friday Everyone.

Today's photo probably won't make you smile but it was taken by my hubby a few years ago and I thought some of you may find it interesting.

It's a cellar spider with her eggs.  I know she looks like a monster but she's one of those spiders with the long skinny legs.

We live in a small thatched cottage and have quite a few around.  They are harmless so we just let them live their lives.

We're going to Cambridge shortly to visit hubby's Aunty in the nursing home.  On Sunday I'm going to Craft workshop so a good weekend for me.  I hope you enjoy yourself too.

I'm linking up with Annie on her blog A Stitch in Time where we share happy thoughts on Fridays.

I must be honest and say that I do appreciate the beauty of nature but as I have a real phobia of spiders I have had to scroll the pic to above my screen to feel happy typing you a comment. :-) I know they are harmless but my heart thumps when I see one and it has to be removed from the room for me to be happy. Hope you have a fab time at your workshop and have a great week.
Hugs,
Annie x

Hi Barb, I know these spiders well Lol! It seems as though once they visit you they never leave and they are crafty at hiding. Have a lovely Friday and thanks for the visit to mine, Angela x

That's an amazing photo Barb, although I wouldn't thank you for the spider.
Enjoy your crafty workshop this weekend, I'm cropping Sunday too.
Hugs Erika. x

That is a beautiful photo. Well done your hubby! I don't mind spiders. Just as well as there are a good few here. It doesn't help that we live either on a building site or in a cave house, lol!
Well, you have a great weekend to look forward to. Have a good one,
Lisca

Hi Barb, what a brilliant photo your hubby has taken of the spider. Now I don't really mind them, and when we have really big ones in the house I always give them a name, hubby thought is terrified of them, though won't kill them.
Have alovely weekend and enjoy your crafty day, Kate x

What an amazing photo...WOW! I don´t know why but I have always been afraid of spiders. I can look at the photo without screaming though...lol, but I would not like to meet them face to face...
The photo is fantastic!!! Enjoy your weekend and your crafty day! I´m going to celebrate my sister in law and her 50th birthday tomorrow.
Hugs Lisa

I don't mind spiders Barb but won't share my home with them...my sons both have real phobias and "Mommy" frequently has to go to the rescue lol! Enjoy your weekend. Carol x

You have me so intrigued, Barb! I think this lady spider must be the type we call "Daddy Long Legs" here? They are the only spider I can abide, so I don't mind seeing this photo. But what is she doing? Is that her front end and she's relocating them or her back end laying them? Tell hubby it's a brilliant photo! Enjoy your crafty weekend!! Hugs, Darnell

I'm so NOT into spiders or pics of them! LOL Our house has too many spiders that totally creep me out whenever I see one. I'm glad this one lives in your home and not mine - because it wouldn't survive here! LOL

What a fascinating picture. I'm not keen on spiders but often just let them carry on. I've never seen one with eggs before. Take care Zo xx

That is a fantastic photo so well done hubby. Nature in all its forms, amazes me. I prefer spiders to keep their distance, and out here we have just one or two that should really not be left to 'live and thrive', but generally I put them outside and warn them not to come back! i still love the photo though, so thanks for sharing.
