With Sympathy card

Hello and welcome

My card today was made a couple of weeks ago and is one for my charity box.

I used the flower from my recent club demo where I demonstrated the whitewash technique.  I wanted to try it on black card too so embossed and cut out a flower with black card.  I painted some ink from a Brilliance white pad onto the flower and when dry painted over areas with a purple distress ink.

The leaves were cut from a scrap of black card and the music paper is from a small piece I had left from a card I made at a recent workshop with Wendy Stenton.

This was one of the cards we made with Wendy.  I didn't actually get it finished and this is the photo I took when I got home.

We had heat embossed and coloured some flowers and leaves.  I cut them out  and stuck on in the corner just above the bow in the afternoon.  It was great fun to make.

As my sympathy card was made with snippets I would like to join in with the girls in the Playground at :
Pixies Snippets Workshop - Weeks 303 & 304

Two beautiful cards, Barb. They're perfect for sympathy cards, but would also be great designs for birthday cards. I love the piano keys on the bottom one, very clever. xx

Lovely cards Barb. I think the sympathy card is very tasteful and love the flower you have used as it is such a pleasant change from the traditional Lily often chosen for such cards. x Anne

Hi Barb, Thanks for the recent visit after I'd been MIA for so long. Lovely to hear from an old friend. I love the technique you've done on this floral sympathy card. The flower is just stunning and it looks so pretty over the musical score. It's a perfect sympathy card as well, and you've done a super job in the designing. Hope that your time away was loads of fun, and now you're home again and can rest up! Hugs &TFS
