Hello and Welcome!

I had a play this afternoon with my Crayola Stix crayons and acrylic paper.

I scribbled lots of colour onto the paper then blended with my fingers.  It looked very bright so I gave it a coat of white Gesso and when it was dry did some stencilling with Milled Lavender DI for the background .

Then using a Jofy set I stamped the tree sideways to make branches and added the birdhouse.  I extended the branches at the bottom with a fine marker then coloured with Promarkers.

The bird was stamped onto a scrap of white card and watercoloured  with a bit of clear sparkle pen on top then cut him out and stuck him to the branch with foam pads.

To finish I put purple crayon round the edge and again rubbed with my finger.  The heart is punched from white card and also has a bit of sparkle pen on top of the milled lavender DI.

I think my card might have been more suitable for Halloween, don't you?

I would like to enter the following challenges:

This is adorable. Enjoyed reading the creating adventures (I don't have any crayon stix, just ole Crayola ones!) Love this background, and the idea of addingthe gesso to tone down the colors. Brilliant to stamp the tree sideways as you did, to make a perch for this oh so cute bird. A clever & most attractive card! TFS

I really like this and love that you use whatever craft materials you have to hand.
Did you have to put anything on to seal the crayons, Barb? x
