Thank you for your visit.
I was interested to read in the comments on my previous post that many of you have done cross stitch and in the past used it for card making.
I used to do that as well as joining in with several Round Robins. I wonder if any of us have met before in our stitching days.
This card was made with a lovely cling stamp that I won as part of a prize recently.
I coloured a large sheet of watercolour paper by smooshing with three colours of distress ink. After cutting out the piece I wanted to use I added some stencilling in a few areas then stamped with black ink. I used a piece of the paper that was bright pink to stamp and cut out another butterfly.
Finally I added a little blue with a sparkle pen and some glitter glue to the butterfly and stuck on with the wings slightly raised. . The sentiment is by Inkadinkado.
O would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

This is such a gorgeous card Barb and right up my street. Lots of lovely stamping and inking. The background is blended beautifully and I love how the butterfly and sentiment really stand out against the background, I love it :). Thank you for the lovely comment that you left on my blog today, I really appreciate it. Crafty hugs, Sandra X

A beautiful card Barb. I too have made many cross stitch cards and taken part in many Round Robins. I used to be a regular poster on the 123stitch.com message board. I wonder if our paths have crossed before? Ruth x

Beautiful card - congratulations on winning that gorgeous stamp.
I think it was cross stitch that led me to card making. I used to buy the magazines that had free cross stitch card kits on the covers, and when I wanted to make extras I sent for the Craft Creations catalogue to order some card blanks and realised just how much more there was than just cross stitch to card making. From there I moved on to glass painting and then to encaustic art and stamping.

That was a lucky win and you've made such a lovely card. The colours in the background and picked out in the butterfly are a great choice.

Beautiful colours and superb ink smooshing - I love butterflies! I've not tried my hand at cross-stitching. I've never been very crafty - the only thing I have tried is making cards.
Beautiful background and butterfly, Barb! We'd love to see this in the gallery at CAS Watercolour!
Gorgeous card Barb. Love the colours of your smooshed, watercoloured background. Great combination with stenciling. And love your beautiful butterfly. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!

Still loving this, Barb! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Watercolour!
Gorgeous stamped and stenciled background for your pretty butterflies. TFS sharing with us at CAS Watercolour.
I like how the pinkish purple of your butterfly matches the background colors but is much more vivid than them so it pops. Very nifty card!
Lovely swooshing - great composition. I used to do x-s round robins - those were the days!
Gorgeous card! I'd forgotten about that stamp - thanks for the reminder:)
I love the colours of this pretty card Barb and the lovely text and butterfly...beautiful! It was definitely cross stitch which led me into cardmaking in the first place, and a great hobby it is too. x
