Get Well- Snippets!

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog.

I'd like to give a warm welcome to my latest follower Donna.  I do  hope you will pop over and visit her blog

This is one of several cards I made a while ago when I was using up bits and pieces and old techniques for quick cards,

I stamped with an old background wood mounted stamp with a versamark ink pad then rubbed over with decorating chalks.

The background edge was also coloured with decorating chalks  and trimmed with fancy scissors.  I used chalks for shading the leaves too.  As you can see I really did go back to basics for this one.

The small flowers and heart were from my bits pot and the large flower and lace from my stash.

The sentiment is from a Paula Pascal set  which you'll see on lots of my cards as it's an old favourite.

Almost everything on this card is snippets so I'm taking it to join in at Pixies Snippets Playground -  Week 252

Very pretty, I love how you've created that background - not tried this technique. So something else for me to have a go at. Loved your "new" sheep card and that shoe card is so pretty too. I wish I could still wear shoes like that too

Great card Barb and a very beautiful reminder to have a play with chalks once again! I'd never thought of using them with stamped VersaMark I must admit.

This is so pretty with the splash of yellow. Love the idea of using the chalks with the versamark ink. Not thought of doing that. hugs Mrs A.

You did go back to a lot of oldie but goodie techniques and tools. I remember fancy scissors and how we all had to had every design out there. I only have a few favorites left now including the one you used here. And versamark and chalk! I haven't thought of that in forever! It always made such a nice soft look and your background is an excellent example of that. Your card is awesome!!!

What an amazing technique to stamp with versa and then rub over it with chalks. I will now have to look into chalks.. oh goodness the wish list never stops growing. Very nice card Barb.

I love this background. Pretty and lacy and soft, the florals match perfectly. Just shows we should dig through our stash and use the old stuff.

Beautiful... Do you have to use a fixative on these chalks? Never tried, so haven't a clue!
