A Late - Oldie on Friday

I'm a bit late but just managed to sort out an Oldie for Friday.

I wanted to join in with Erika on her Snappy Crafts blog where she invites us to share a craft item of any sort which was made some time ago.

I have often thought of having a go at a journal page but still never taken the plunge but I did make this card a couple of years ago with journaling in mind ...

I used a piece of card that had been used to wipe up paint from my mat.  I painted the hearts and leaves but only added a little shading to the vase as I liked the mottled effect.

I scribbled round the sentiment with a gold gel pen and doodled quickly round the edge.

I've no idea what the stamp is but it's not been used since.

Love your card Barb, the pretty effect you have created on the background card looks great and sets that stamp off beautifully.

This is so simple yet cool. I love your doodled edging. I used to make doodles and faux stitches around the edge of my images quite often. That's a blast from the past. I'll bet we all have stamps like this one "not used since." So many stamps... not enough time!

Hi Barb,
what a very super Oldie for Friday.
You have made such a super job of this, and your work around the edges is fantastic.
I too have bought a book about a year ago to journal, but still haven't got round to it.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

What a pretty background Barb, and goes to show that a piece of card used to mop up ink can work really well. I love that vase of hearts which stand out beautifully in the red and the doodled frame is fabulous. x
