Similar with Snippets

Hello and thank you for visiting today.

This is similar to a card that I made at a workshop last Saturday.

It's a 6 inch square card with the front folded in half to make a fold back card.

The blue paper was stuck onto the right hand side of the card and on the panel on the left.  The patterned paper was matted on top.

Then we made the dimensional decoration on the right hand side.

I'm sure lots of you know how this was done but for those who don't this is what we did.

We punched out circles from white paper then cut pieces  of blue paper 2.4 cm  square and stuck them into the middle of the circles.  Finally we folded all four sides of the circle in towards the middle and positioned them in place on the card.

The bow was made with a Sue Wilson bow die.  Oops! an unstuck bit on the bottom corner.

I'm taking my card over to Pixie's Snippets Playground - Week 231

Great card for the Snippets challenge this week. Very effective 'foldy' bits - remind me of Japanese folded patchwork technique

It looks like a lot of work went into this pretty creation, but it's well worth it! Love those folded circles!

Well Barb - I learned something new again today! That folding technique is so effective and great to know how it's done. I don't have a large enough round punch but aim to have a play with my dies for circles and then use a 1" square punch. So effective - and would also be a great design for Christmas cards?!

Thanks for coming to play!

Hugs

Di xx

I didn't know how to do this but it looks very effective doesn't it? And simple too, something I could have a go at without buying anything new!

Really lovely card and a little too technical for me, I would have made a right mess of it, nice bow too.

I'm so glad you told us how to make that amazing dimensional decoration, I'm going to have to give it a try. The bow die is adorable, makes a lovely little bow. Your cards are always fabulous and you know so much about so many techniques, you should have online classes.

What a wonderful effect - thanks for explaining how it was done, a good one for snippets that I need to remember.
That "ring pull" on my last card was a padlock from Craft Consortium LOL!

I like the folded circle embellishments and how you put them offset with added bling. Very nice card! And thanks for reminding us how those embellishments were made. I knew I knew but couldn't quite put my finger on how.

This was a worthy showcase card at Pixie's, Barb! It took me a couple of minutes, but then I got the idea of what you did and I think it's fabulous! On another note, I know you wished me well on my upcoming trip, but you didn't mention if we might be able to meet, which I would love! Could you email me at darnell dot knauss at gmail dot com and I'll give you the details of my plans for Knutsford, which I think isn't too terribly far for you to come. Thank you! Hugs, Darnell
