Happy Thursday Everybody!
I've a couple of busy days coming up so won't be able to join in tomorrow with my usual Friday links.
Tomorrow morning is all boring stuff then we're visiting a friend and on Saturday I'm off to a workshop - hurray!
Today's card was made for Mrs A's Butterfly Challenge blog #55 A for Aperture and Apricot.
Well I began by scratching my head as I had no apricot coloured paper or ink pads.
However, I have a "never before used" Adirondak inkpad called Bellini Peach.
I swiped it all over a strip of white card then rubbed over the top with Victorian Velvet Distress ink which gave as near to an apricot colour as I could get.
I stamped an old Glenda Waterman flower randomly over the front of the card with the peach ink pad then cut an aperture using a Spellbinders die.
Next I die cut some printed acetate, given to me by my friend Jacky, for the back of the aperture and die cut an oval frame from white card to cover the workings at the back.
The oval frame and base of the butterfly were cut from the card I had previously coloured and the top of the butterfly was cut from a scrap of vellum. I attached a piece of the printed acetate with brads from my stash. I rounded one corner and put a blush on ink round the edge of the card to finish.
I would also like to join in at 613 Avenue Create # 176 - "Anything Goes"

A beautiful card Barb - the design and colours all work so well together. I haven't managed to find anything apricot yet - thank goodness Mrs A has given us a month for this challenge!

I se all these great ideas and then forget to use them my self. Thank you for fluttering by my new challenge where your card will be entered twice into the draw. Hugs Mrs A.

There's something about oval aperture that always appeals Barb and the Butterfly sitting on the edge makes for a great design.

Love these colors! Also a great design, and the script inside the framed aperture is a wonderful design element. Enjoy your workshop and hope you'll be able to share your adventures with Blogland. Have a great time with your friend. Life is so much more important than blogging & crafting, yes? TFS & yes I'll be delighted when this project is over. But I fear that it's going to be a long haul, as it involves coordinating different work skills, making sure they show up when needed. Not always something that happens. Also have to wait on things to be 'made' and then get the people back to install. TFS & have a great time in your workshop. See ya when you get back. Hugs
It's very pretty and well done for being inventive about the ink colour. I don't think I've got anything quite right so I'll have to be inventive too! The colour is lovely and fresh on the card.
LOVE the stamped acetate! First time I have ever seen that -- fabulous card~

Beautiful Barb and so enterprising to use the ink pad as you did. I think that range of pads has the most delicious names :) I bought the peach bellini mostly due to the name :)) A winner in my eyes - clever you!

Fabulous card, Barb, I love the design. I made my card for the Butterfly Challenge today, but the light was so bad, the apricot looks more like bright orange! I'll try and take a better picture tomorrow and upload it on my blog later in the week. xx
This is such a beautiful card Barb and the acetete looks so pretty behind the peach frame and with the added butterfly, and a great idea to use a strip of the acetate for the sentiment. I love the stamped flowers in the background too. Sorry I haven't commented on some of your recent posts but have been away and am still catching up. x
Your acetate layers really make this such a special card, Barb. Everything ties in beautifully :)
wow, stunning card with great design!
Apricot is a tricky color. You came up with a great facsimile of it here. I like that card design with the printed acetate.
