Smiles on Friday #161

Morning Everybody,

Hubby is out today.  He's gone to Aylesbury to visit a friend who has recently had an operation.

He's taking Dave out for lunch so he bought this for me yesterday.

My Hubby certainly knows the way to my heart.  I love Macaroni Cheese.   This is my favourite make of ready meal.  They are always tastey and there's always a  cartoon to enjoy too.

They come in a balsa wood box which will be stamped on and made into a card or some ATCs.

Well into the oven for 25 minutes, a large glass of red and I'm a happy bunny.

I'll spend the afternoon crafting and no dinner to cook this evening.  I'm linking up with Annie on her Stitch in Time blog where we share events from the week.

Have a lovely day everyone.

That looks yummy! Did your husband draw the cartoon or did it come with the meal?
I like it when things are packed in something other than a plastic container. As you say, you can make good use of that.
Have a lovely day crafting in peace and have a good week to boot,
Lisca

Hi Barb! Oh yummy! I love Charlie's Chicken and mushroom pies in the white ramekins - still need to think of a way to re-purpose those! :)

I zoomed the pic to understand what is this, but without result.
In Italy "macaroni" is "maccheroni", a type of pasta. In my mind Macaroni cheese = pasta with cheese (maccheroni al formaggio ...yummmm...).
But this not seems the some thing. What are the ingredients in this food?

Oh can I come to yours, it sounds like heavy, and P & Q too. Just perfect.
Have fun.

Hugs Erika.

You are right Alice, this is maccheroni with a strong cheese sauce but with other bits added like pieces of crunchy toast.

I love all pasta with cheese or tomatoe sauce and with lots of garlic too. yum!

What a posh ready meal he treated you to, the container looks very useful. Macaroni cheese is one of my favourites too, but I have to make it from scratch as I use goats milk as I have a mild cows milk intolerance (tmi - too much cows milk makes me vomit) but I still manage to eat milk chocolate!
I tried to reply to your comment but blogger wasn't having it. Well spotted it was the stamp that Leonie used.i didn't buy the set honest - oh look how big my nose has got! Hope you have a relaxing time today, will pass on the hi if I meet Joanne. Cara x

It looks delicious and I have no doubt you will use the balsa box for a fabulous creation. Looking forward seeing your card later.

What a thoughtful guy DH is to get that in for you. Yum! I love Charlie's ready meals too but I also love COOK meals. I go to Booths Supermarkets whenever I can and they have recently opened one in Burscough which we can call in en route to a day out in Southport now and then, and they sell both brands. Well done you for planning to recycle the packaging.

Thanks for your lovely comment today Barb!

I meant to say, Barb, that my camellia tree was bought for me one Mother's Day by my DD2 over 20 years ago when she was a penniless student, for £1.99 in Woolworths. I had a lovely friend who died far too young that year and she had one (just like mine is now) outside her living room window so that is where we planted mine. It has grown so well and it makes me think of my lovely daughter and my late friend too. A good £1.99's worth for sure.

Hi Barb, BP here. I hope you enjoyed your meal. You are like me today and can do whatever you like. It is very kind of you to visit me but you must keep quiet about what you see as I should still be on my shelf. They are back tomorrow so I need to get back up there soon. Have a great weekend, BP Mini Me and friends xXx

I've been gone all day, so I'm impressed with your hubby. Since I live in the states, I'm not familiar with that restaurant, but apparently others are. So of course, I had to go to the internet and see what it was made of. I noticed there are ciabatta croutons that I was seeing in your photo. Of course, I also saw it was not suitable for us vegetarians, but it looks delicious. And to think you have a perfect recyclable container, too. I'm smiling because this is a perfect thing for your hubby to leave you with.

Macaroni cheese is my favourite dish too and yours certainly looks delicious. My DH doesn't like it so I make a point of ordering it whenever we are eating out. Apologies for being so late - it takes me ages to get round everyone at the moment. Elizabeth xx
